Who is Tomlin Leckie, exactly?


Good question! You want to know I can walk the walk, right?

You may have seen me already on my YouTube videos. You might have done my famous 28-day harmonica practice challenge. 


But here’s some more about me:

I’m a musician/teacher and harmonica nut from Edinburgh, Scotland. I’ve made my living from my harmonica since 2008. In the early days I was gigging by myself and with bands.

It was a great life, but I struggled to pay the bills on what I earnt. 

So, I began doing some harmonica teaching. And soon found I loved it. Showing others how to get the best out of this instrument and watching them progress was an incredible buzz. 

Soon I was teaching around 40 students a week. And over the years I built and refined a simple, but effective system to take people from beginner to confident blues-playing harpist. I began uploading videos to YouTube, so my students could watch at home and practice what I was showing them.

My teaching got so popular that I was struggling to keep up! I had a waiting list as long as my arm and couldn’t meet demand. 

So, I thought, why not put this system - and all the things I’d been teaching people – online? That would give everyone the chance to learn from me and improve their harmonica playing. And at a much cheaper rate than in-person lessons – with me or anyone else.

1. Who is the school for?

It’s for anyone who wants to get better with the harmonica and have more fun playing this incredible instrument.


2. What playing level should I be at to join?

It doesn’t matter. You could be a complete beginner, or someone who’s been playing for years. There are specific sections for all abilities. You just need the desire and determination to improve. 


3. What type of harmonica do I need?

You need a 10-hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C major for the majority of the curriculum. When you get to intermediate level, I’ll recommend some more harmonicas that would be useful for you.


4. How long does it take?

The practice guides are broken down into different months, but you work through it at your own speed. There’s no pressure.


5. How long do I have access to the school?

For as long as you’re subscribed. You can access all the materials – and take part in the individual teaching and support groups – whenever you like and for as long as you’re a member.
